Experimental testing of two short‐fiber reinforced composites: PPA‐GF33 and PPS‐GF40

This paper presents an experimental testing of two short-fiber reinforced composites (SFRC). The materials are a polyphthalamide with 33% glass fiber inclusion (PPA-GF33) and polyphenylene sulfide 40% inclusion. Rectangular plates were obtained from these by injection molding. Specimens, type 1BA, according to ISO 527-2, cut out orientations 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, respect the longitudinal direction plate. cutting was conducted using CNC water jet machine. Tension tests performed at room temperature, in order determine mechanical behavior. Results presented form stress–strain curves, considering different specimens. results processed assess differences that appear due orientation. A comparison between terms Young's modulus, tensile strength, strain. data used calibrate Tsai–Hill fracture criterion.
